EQ: Online Adventures
Tuesday, November 19th

EQ: Online Adventures for the PS2 has come out of the NDA as of a couple of days ago. I've been testing it out a little bit. I do not plan on making maps for that game myself, however I'll be posting up a section for people to submit maps to. There are a lot of zones and I'm simply too tired to run around and write down loc's a thousand times...

I've got a few submissions for the new guides (see below) which I'll hopefully get up over the weekend. They look pretty good, hopefully more people will send them in. Note that the change I mention below loosens up the Maps Usage Statement a little bit, doesn't tighten it, you can still print up your own copies.

Maps Usage Statement Revised
Thursday, November 14th

I've decided to change the way people are allowed to use my maps on their own pages to take into account the creativity out there with people coming up with their own travel and hunting guides and other things.

The new rules go something like this: You are allowed to use my maps on your own web pages provided you follow all of the following rules:

  1. The map you use must be cropped so that only the section your guide deals with is displayed. The entire map can not be used.
  2. You must contain a link, preferably adjacent to the map but somewhere on the page, that states that the map is from EQ Atlas and links to this page (http://www.eqatlas.com).
  3. Send me the link when you're done. I'll be putting up a guide with links to all of the guides you all send in.
  4. You can only use the maps on a web page open to the public (no books/magazines and no private guild-only sites).

That's it! Let me know if you have any questions, preferably before you make the guide (for your sake). This is subject to change at any time, especially if I see people rampantly abusing it, but I don't expect that will happen.

New Plane of Knowledge Map
Saturday, November 9th

I finally got some time and got up a map for the Plane of Knowledge. I think it's safe to say that this will be the last Planes of Power map until all the other maps are done. You can take that however you wish.

Hope everyone had a good time at the Fan Faire this weekend.

Korean EQ Atlas
Wednesday, November 6th

Today I want to announce the opening of the Korean version of EQ Atlas! This will explain the new logo on the side of this page and also the Atlas page. Welcome to our new Korean visitors! Of course, the silliness of announcing a new foreign language version of the site in english wasn't lost on me, but I'll do it anyway. :) I also wanted to thank Min and all the guys at NCSoft who helped out, I think you did a great job!

Two Things I forgot
Thursday, October 24th

I forgot to mention two things in yesterday's post. First is that I don't directly see any money that goes to Allakhazam's site, whether in donations or for the premium service. What I get is free hosting. Hopefully that clears up some confusion.

The second is that I previously mentioned that I was proud that SOE made long-needed changes to various problems in the game. After playing my level 38 monk, however, I have to detract my statement with regards to monks. I think my "ability to be killed randomly" was increased significantly and, from what I hear, it didn't really slow down higher levels that much, since they have a much higher hit point buffer to withstand those random smacks for 50% more than we used to get. What I can do is solo greens and low blues without ever getting hit. Gee, thanks.

Planes of Power, part 2
Wednesday, October 23rd

I just wanted to thank everyone who sent me a vote of confidence after my last post on here, I hadn't intended to sound so full of ire, although I guess reading it after I wrote it sure makes it look that way. I'm more aptly described as a little irritated at a lot of things at the moment, I guess Monday was an especially bad day. Although I have gotten three emails since I posted it asking where the PoP maps are, so I guess not everyone pays attention...

I put up a list of some of the Planes themselves in the message board, but this is by no means my official list, but a work in progress. I would appreciate anyone with experience at this stuff to go in and mention additions/corrections to it.

Lastly, since the Everquest Atlas book came out, I've received some emails by people who are confused, one telling me I should let everyone know that my maps are for sale in a book. Well, my maps are *not* for sale in any book. I'll just restate that the book has nothing to do with this site, nor this site with the book. Name chosen to cause confusion in the marketplace? Got me, you be the judge.

I also fixed the PoP link in the store if anyone cares. And my poor american spanish and I couldn't spell cojones. I apologize to those out there who weren't properly offended the first time. ;)

Planes of Power
Monday, October 21st

Planes of Power was officially released today. Of course, almost nobody has the actual CD yet, but that will change quickly throughout the week. For those of you looking for the teleport spots to get to the planes, the EQ Traders forum has compiled a complete list for them. I'll update the maps when I get a chance, which won't be during the week.

As for people asking me where my maps are (believe me, I've gotten those emails already) they don't exist yet. As yet, I'm uncertain if they ever will. I was not one of the chosen to be in the beta test this time around, and I'm sure an astute thinker can figure out the reasons behind that one. Therefore, I'm awaiting the game's arrival just like everyone else is. Plus, as soon as I put up a map from this expansion, I can expect the rash of hate mail asking me why I haven't finished Kunark yet before posting up ones from this. Sigh.

At any rate, there's a few things brewing on my end which are consuming my time, but I'll do my best to get in there for you all.
